The Truth About You

The Truth About You

Difficult as it was to accept, I had to admit there were things that were true about me that were very tough to face.  I was having a hard time getting past them….a very hard time.  Even though I read that in Christ I was new, to look at my life it didn’t seem to be true.  For years I tried to change what was true to what was new, but with no success. Exhausted and depleted from constant struggle, I finally realized… There is something greater than true.Continue reading

One Year Later

One Year Later

It’s September 24th and I have officially been a blogger for one year.  As defined by the Urban Dictionary this would make today my blogiversary.  Anniversaries make great days for looking back so I’m doing some reflecting. Continue reading

Bible Identity Quiz

Bible Identity Quiz

I’ve so enjoyed spending time studying and exploring God’s Word, and lately I’ve begun to discover something about myself.  In one way or another, I seem to always attempt to encourage others to spend time in it too.  To me it’s like a treasure hunt….there’s always some hidden gem to uncover.  Continue reading

Who Are You, God?

Who Are You, God?

We say we love mercy, but do we?  Really? We do…for our own sins, but what about the sins of others? Even worse, what about the sins of others…against us…against someone we love?

Betrayal, theft, slander, abuse, abandonment…and untold other offenses too horrendous to fathom.

True Worship

True Worship

Maybe worship isn’t what we’ve thought. Maybe it’s more than singing and lifting our hands. Maybe, like the Israelites of old, we’ve settled for a shallow counterfeit of the real thing.

Love…Romanticized or Recognized?

Love…Romanticized or Recognized?

Today I want to wish you a Happy Valentines Day with a small reminder.  There’s one thing I’ve learned about love.  It doesn’t necessarily look like what you think it should look like….but that doesn’t mean it’s not love.  It’s not always red roses, pink hearts, candlelight and boxed chocolate. Look for it in unexpected places, expressing itself in unconventional ways.Continue reading

The Beauty of our Creator

We just returned from a seven day cruise to the Caribbean.  It was wonderful.  Some things just can’t be described…they must be experienced.  Every aspect of this trip was thoroughly enjoyable.  There was nearly too much to take in.  Actually, there was too much.Continue reading

A New Day

A New Day

We are now three weeks into the new year.  How’s it going?  By about this time most people’s New Year’s resolutions have bitten the dust.  Statistics show that fewer than half of New Years resolutions survive past February.  I think I know why.Continue reading

Beware! New Years Resolutions Ahead

Beware! New Years Resolutions Ahead

New Years resolutions….at one time or another most of us have made them.  Those of us who don’t, well, it’s probably because we’ve made them to no avail since we found we didn’t keep them.  Making resolutions isn’t necessarily a bad thing.  Actually, it can be of benefit, but there is a hidden danger.  The primary intention for making resolutions is self-improvement.  Therein is the inherent danger….self!
