God’s people began to settle for the outward rituals of worship that God required, and thought it was enough. They were going through the motions. Are we?
A few days ago my sister-in-law and I were at an outdoor restaurant enjoying a delicious lunch and marvelously warm weather in celebration of the birth of her first granddaughter. Halfway through our meal I glanced up at the umbrella we were seated under and was unexpectedly stirred by what I saw written there on the canvas. It has since been speaking to me, and now hopefully through me to you, my friends….and it has to do with thirst.
Today I want to wish you a Happy Valentines Day with a small reminder. There’s one thing I’ve learned about love. It doesn’t necessarily look like what you think it should look like….but that doesn’t mean it’s not love. It’s not always red roses, pink hearts, candlelight and boxed chocolate. New Years resolutions….at one time or another most of us have made them. Those of us who don’t, well, it’s probably because we’ve made them to no avail since we found we didn’t keep them. Making resolutions isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Actually, it can be of benefit, but there is a hidden danger. The primary intention for making resolutions is self-improvement. Therein is the inherent danger….self!
