Sufficient Funds

Sufficient Funds

We’ve been concentrating on our need to shift our mindset concerning the Word of God from thinking of it as a debt we owe to it being a record of our assets.  But when reading the Bible it is undeniable that there are numerous do’s in the New Testament.

What are we to do with the “do’s“? Without a doubt we are supposed to…

walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, bearing fruit in every good work.  (Colossians 1:10)

As a matter of fact, Ephesians 4, 5, and 6 overflow with instructions as to how we are to walk as Christians.  One could tend to be weighted down with the debt.  But this can only happen if you fail to read Ephesians 1, 2, and 3, for found therein is the record of your assets.  Those first three chapters abound with a declaration of the spiritual riches available to meet the obligations of the last three.

Have you ever seen the format of a financial statement?  It records liabilities (obligations and debts) on one side and assets on the other.  Assets are defined as property available for the payment of debts.  Those who are financially sound have sufficent assets to meet all their obligations.  God has not left us with insufficient funds.  His grace has been lavished upon us….and His grace is sufficient!  In Him we have more than enough to meet any and every obligation required of us.

So let’s continue to search and research the Word of God for those assets that are ours in Christ.  As we focus on them and meditate on them we’ll discover our obligations are being met effortlessly.  For you see, paying a bill is not a struggle when you have sufficient resources to meet the obligation.  And we do, for….

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.

II Corinthians 9:8 NASB
